Vics Go For 6 Wins In A Row!!

Tonight (Wednesday) we face Wollaton FC as we look to maintain our 100% start to the season with 5 straight victories so far. This would be the best start to a league campaign for over 25 years and would be a massive achievement for all involved with the club.
Our recent record versus Wollaton is identical to our opponents last Saturday with 2 victories for Vics during the 22-23 season followed by 2 victories for Wollaton last season. The games in the 22-23 season were a 2-1 victory at home followed by a 4-1 score line in Vics favour away. The 23-24 season produced 2 heavy defeats for Vics with 7-3 reverse at home followed by a similar high score of 6-3 away at Notts Trent Uni’s Lee Westwood Sports Complex. The strange thing about the 6-3 defeat was Vics actually played well but paid dearly for some individual errors, it did feel like a turning point though which proved, indeed, to be the case. Let’s hope we can turn last seasons results on their head and gain a further valuable 3 points. Players involved in that last loss and likely to be involved tonight are Jacob Hawksworth with Gerson Diaz, Adam Sharratt, Oli Taberer and Levi Hulme still in the overall squad.
Saturdays match proved to be a fantastic performance by the Vics running out 8-0 winners in what was very much a family affair with the Lee brothers, Josh and Jordan, sharing 5 goals between them and the father and son combination of Marcus and Mason Tudgay bagging a goal each. Young Academy player Charlie Holness added an 8th goal which capped off a fine afternoon at the AEA.
We are sure tonight will be an exciting game and look forward to welcoming you so come along and support your local club and enjoy a drink with friends new and old!
